Past-Present-Prospects: 2017 APLD International Conference

2017 APLD International Design Conference – Boston

Ronny and I were fortunate to spend a couple of days with design colleagues in downtown Boston at the 2017 APLD International Conference. This annual event was just what we needed to refresh and re-focus.

The Greenway tour gets off to a rainy start

Excellent speakers and seminars help us stay sharp and current with design trends. The most common thread throughout the conference was the championing of native plants. The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy tour might have been the highlight of the trip. Very impressive gardens assembled and expressed in a relatively short period of time. I was particularly impressed with the diversity of native plants that were thriving in the urban space of downtown Boston! And, all gardens are maintained organically!

In addition to the Greenway’s plant contribution to the urban landscape, it dazzled us with its sculptural elements as well.
